Steps for J-Term/Summer Affiliated Programs Abroad

Study Abroad AIFS J-Term/Summer Steps
  1. Watch the J-term/Summer affiliated program information session for updated polices and procedures prior to the term going abroad Link Here
  2. Ensure to speak with your academic advisor on your plan of study and that you have the flexibility academically to spend a short-term abroad
  3. Please additionally explore short-term faculty led programs abroad Link Here
  4. Research and complete the Quinnipiac application on portal Link Here
  5. Complete the AIFS approved program application on their website
  6. An AIFS pending and or an official acceptance is sufficient to be uploaded via screenshot on the Quinnipiac portal by October 15th (J-Term applicant) or March 15th (Summer applicant)
  7. As discussed in the information session student will pay tuition/housing and program fees directly to AIFS
  8. Financial aid is applicable to short-term affiliate programs abroad

  10. Please inquire with AIFS if a short term student visa is required
  11. Passport must be valid 6 months after your return, please ensure to check your passport expiration date
  12. If student meets GPA and conduct requirements as discussed in the information session you may proceed with paying your deposit to AIFS
  13. Post October 15 (J-Term applicant) or March 15th (Summer applicant), complete the QU post decision forms due November 15th (J-Term applicant) or April 15 (Summer applicant)
  14. Post October 15th (J-Term applicant) or March 15th (Summer applicant) continue to work with AIFS on their application
  15. Date and time for flights will be guided by AIFS
  16. Withdraw prior to October 15th (J-term applicant) or March 15 (Summer applicant) please email directly study.abroad@quinnipiac.edu and AIFS to inquire about any fees that may have been incurred
  17. Student is responsible for purchasing QU’s World Class Coverage Insurance Plan prior to departure Link Here
  18. Prepare for pre-departure information session TBA. Often delivered in late November early December (J-term Applicant) late April early May (Summer applicant)
