Steps for Semester Programs Abroad


Study Abroad Steps for Ireland University College Cork
  1. Attend or watch a semester abroad general information session for updated policies and procedures prior to the semester going abroad Link here
  2. Attend or watch a Ireland specific information session prior to the semester going abroad Link Here
  3. Ensure to speak with your academic advisor on your plan of study and that you have the flexibility academically to spend a semester abroad
  4. Complete the Quinnipiac application on the portal Link Here
  5. Please submit the Study Abroad Financial Responsibility and Withdrawal Policy form on the Quinnipiac application (guardian and student must sign)
  6. Submit your UCC application Link Here
  7. Upload your UCC Acceptance letter to the Quinnipiac portal by October 15 (Spring applicant) March 15th (Fall applicant)
  8. The cost for semester abroad includes tuition/fees and standard room (meal plan not included) which will be reflected on your semester bill as discussed in the information session
  9. Please refer to the cost sheet on the program brochure to understand a break down of costs Link Here
  10. Financial aid is applicable to semester abroad
  11. For questions regarding financial aid email MaryAnn.Sola@quinnipiac.edu
  12. Student Visa is not needed prior to departure and you will obtain one upon arrival in Ireland
  13. Passport must be valid 6 months after your return, please ensure to check your passport expiration date
  14. Book your flight to Ireland and back to the states when directed by study.abroad@qu.edu
  15. Post October 15 (Spring applicant) or March 15th (Fall applicant), complete the QU post decision forms due November 15th (Spring applicant) or April 15(Fall applicant)
  16. Housing allocation session will be held mid November(Spring applicant) mid April(Fall applicant)
  17. Withdraw prior to October 15th (Spring applicant) or March 15th (Fall applicant) please email directly study.abroad@quinnipiac.edu to inquire about any fees that may have been incurred
  18. Student is responsible for purchasing QU’s World Class Coverage Insurance Plan prior to departure Link Here
  19. Prepare for pre-departure information session TBA. Often delivered in late November early December (Spring applicant) late April early May(Fall applicant)

Study Abroad Steps for API Spain/Seville
  1. Attend or watch a semester abroad general information session for updated policies and procedures prior to the semester going abroad Link here
  2. Attend or watch a Spain specific information session prior to the semester going abroad Link Here
  3. Ensure to speak with your academic advisor on your plan of study and that you have the flexibility academically to spend a semester abroad
  4. Complete the Quinnipiac application on portal Link Here
  5. Complete the API application Link Here
  6. In order to be approved on API portal, you must complete the Study Abroad Financial Responsibility and Withdrawal Policy form on the Quinnipiac Application that requires both student and guardian signature
  7. An API pending and or an official acceptance is sufficient to be uploaded via screenshot on the Quinnipiac portal by October 15th (Spring applicant) or March 15th (Fall applicant)
  8. The cost for semester abroad includes tuition/fees and standard room (meal plan not included) which will be reflected on your semester bill as discussed in the information session

  12. For the API group student Visa process, fees are included in your Quinnipiac tuition and fees that will be billed at the end of the semester

Study Abroad Steps for all API Programs (Non Spain)

  2. Ensure to speak with your academic advisor on your plan of study and that you have the flexibility academically to spend a semester abroad
  3. Complete the Quinnipiac application on the portal Link Here
  4. Research and complete the API approved program application on their website
  5. In order to be approved on API’s portal, you must complete the Study Abroad Financial Responsibility and Withdrawal Policy form on the Quinnipiac Application that requires both student and guardian signature
  6. An API pending and or an official acceptance is sufficient to be uploaded via screenshot on the Quinnipiac portal by October 15th (Spring applicant) or March 15th (Fall applicant)
